Upper Missouri River Sucker

Yes, the common Sucker is vital in maintaining a healthy Trout Stream but they are so UGLY. As a kid, fishing the slow moving Jefferson River, I made a deal with my younger brother John. The deal was, I would pay him a Nickel to take the hook out of the mouth of any Suckers I had caught. I save money now a days by only throwing my hook in fast moving river water. That Episcopal church was built by Art Beiler and Ewald Braach over 100 years ago. Ewald was my great grandfather and I was born in Sheridan in 1946. I am related to the Elsers and Braachs. Although my family moved away in 1952 I spent my summers growing up there with my grandparents in Brandon, Sheridan will always be my hometown.

There is only one town along US-212 between Belle Fourche South Dakota and I-90 in Crow Agency Montana. There are no services for more then 100 miles in two places, plus an Indian Reservation in Montana, and some are not too friendly for the motorists. I rather take I-90 between Belle Fourche South Dakota and Crow Agency Montana, via Gillette Wyoming. When traveling on I-90, it is no more then 60 miles between towns, such as Buffalo Wyoming and Gillette Wyoming, which has food, gas, and lodging, and besides I-90 is safer then traveling on US-212.

@@ytfan3815 The BEST week in our entire life was when we spent time riding bikes in and around Amsterdam. The people, the canals, the open air markets, the history, the architecture, the bike lanes and the hundreds of baked goods you can dunk in your coffee was incredible. We moved south to other cities on the continent but Amsterdam stood out as a fantastic place to really live.

@@MontanapicturesNet Yeah, nice place, the Netherlands are a good place to live, but by far we can't compete with the beauty of Montana or other places in the US, I saw "Montana from Above" on National Geographic last year and the views are stunning, the old gold mines, nature, parks, mountains etc., just beautiful. There are also a lot of beautiful montains and natural scenery in Europe too. Thanks again for the reply.

Here in Wisconsin the countryside was scattered with cheese factories. Every little town would have a feed mill to grind cattle feed. I remember as a young boy it was a treat to go along with Dad to the feed mill on Saturday. We had our milk picked up in bulk but I remember that if we did chores for the neighbor when they left for a few days we would load the milk cans in their pickup and take it to the local cheese factory. Fond memories.
